Summer Shoes for Wide, Chubby Feet

Kim Weighs In: Episode 1, "If the Shoe Fits..."
Summer 2009

about
Do you have wide or chubby feet?

So many shoe companies ignore wide or fleshy feet.  Or, if they do "stoop" to engineer footwear that fits Fred Flintstone feet like mine (and maybe yours), the shoes are often ugly as sin.

But fat feet deserve pretty shoes, too.  And ideally, those shoes should also be comfortable, and even good for your feet.

Find out which companies I discovered that manufacture summer shoes to fit feet like yours -- and the shoes are actually cute!

Companies that cater to chubby feet, and do it with style and a thought for your comfort, deserve your patronage.  Find out which shoemakers got my thumbs-up in Episode 1 of "Kim Weighs In".  Be sure to watch both parts, 1 and 2!

Thank you for this. I have 9.5 EE or EEEE (depending on style) feet and have been having trouble finding decent shoes for years.
My go to brands have been Propet and New Balance but this gives me a few more options to look at. Plus, I've been wanting pretty shoes not just functional.

You know I have a friend who has fat feet too. Choosing what shoes to fit her is one of her problems. So the very first thing she looks for shoes is not the color or brand but it's with the style that will her feet and will make her feel comfortable as well.

Great videos. Plus size / big size is so overlooked by the chainstores. The only place you can really shop is online for plus size anything.

In Canada, where I usually live, clothing is available in specialty stores, but only because I live in a big city. Shoes, on the other hand, are a real fuss - not much available in a 12EEE, and many of the online stores featuring large/wide shoes are based in the USA, and won't ship to Canada. I'm visiting family in the States currently, and will be taking advantage of the geography to have something for the winter shipped to me here. (Definitely NOT a big city!)

When you have shoes that don't fit the norm, like for clothes, finding stuff that fits, that is comfortable AND flattering can be such a hassle! Thanks for these useful tips on where to find shoes that fit wide, chubby feet. Anyone can wear cute shoes, people just need to bother to ask for them.
